We are now inviting a qualified individual to join this team as Operations Officer, Labuan Offshore Banking Unit (LBU).

Principle Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Payment Services in monitoring and managing LBU's inward & outward TTs including snag items and queries from correspondent banks.
• Work closely with Global Market in contracting FX deals for LBU's inward and outward remittances as well as for LBU’s administrative expenses.
• Maintain a good relationship with customers and attain deposit customers’ queries promptly and appropriately.
• Work closely with Procurement in processing admin payments, staff claims, office supplies, office equipment maintenance and insurance matters and branch administration. 
• Manage nostro accounts in an efficient manner, safeguard bank’s assets and to maximize the returns while minimize losses.
• To assist Manager Operations to monitor/control/minimize overheads/expenditure.
• To prepare any other ad hoc reports assigned by the superiors or management.
• By delivering high quality services to customers via established Service Level Agreement agreed between LBU and Businesses/Functions.
• By maintaining and ensuring due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, including timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external regulators.
• Ensuring awareness of compliance requirements & Group compliance policy and Operational Risk & ensuring effective cost control and generating effective ideas for improving procedures & systems.

Qualifications:

• Good understanding of HSBC Group, its operations, products, services and business relations.
• A good understanding of standard corporate/transaction banking, global markets products and services.
• Professional / tertiary qualifications.
• Strong communication skills – should possess good communication skills and strong analytical skills.
• Planning / organizational / problem solving / negotiation / leadership skills, analytical reasoning and passion.
• Information technology – familiarity with PCs and application softwares (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint etc).
• Knowledge of Labuan Offshore Banking Act, Offshore Companies Act and Exchange Control Regulations, Anti Money Laundering Act, BIM, FIMs etc.
